‘Fire Emblem Heroes’ is Running an Arena Promotion Through the End of the Month

TouchArcade Rating:

Fire Emblem Heroes (Free) is a lot of fun, but there are definitely a couple of things about it that can be a bummer. One of the biggest things is how maddeningly hard it is to rank up a star ranking on a hero. Moving a hero up from the four-star “almost useful" rank to the five-star “I’ll keep them" rank requires grinding of two different items, and neither is particularly easy to come by. From now until the end of the month, however, Nintendo is making it a little bit easier to stock up on one of them.

Hero Feathers have quickly become the bane of many players. You need 20,000 of them to rank a four-star hero up to five-stars, and the only way to earn a decent amount of them is through participating in the Arena Duels mode. You’ll score points based on your successful attacks and defenses, and at the end of each season, you’ll earn some Hero Feathers based on your best scores. Seasons last one week, and if you’re the very best in the world, you can earn just over 7,000 feathers. It’s highly likely that you’re not the best in the world, though, so you’ll probably get between 1,000 and 2,000 feathers per week if you play your allotted three battles every day. That means you’ll be able to rank a character up once every few months at best. Boo!

Enter the new Arena Promotion event. First of all, log in today and you should receive 10,000 feathers from a Twitter event Nintendo was running. You’ll also get 10 Dueling Crests, each of which will fully restore your Duel stamina once. There are also three new Arena quests to clear for this month. Win 20 Duels at any difficulty level, and you’ll receive 1,000 feathers. Win 10 Duels at Intermediate or higher difficulty (which itself is already a monthly quest), and you’ll get another 1,000 feathers. Finally, win 5 Duels at any level and you’ll get another 10 Dueling Crests. Between those and the login bonus, you’ll get 60 extra chances at the Arena, which should be enough to clear those feather quests. As an added bonus, you’ll probably end up boosting your score for the Arena season.

Don’t forget, if you want to maximize your Arena score, you should try to win seven battles in a row. You can also include one or more of the featured heroes for a bonus. The current season’s featured heroes are Alfonse, Sharena, Marth, Tiki, Robin, Lucina, Roy, Lyn, Takumi, and Camilla. Good luck, and may many Hero Feathers come your way!
