Headup Games was at PAX South demoing Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo Edition: The Card Warriors, and well, it seems to deliver on its promise. It’s a blackjack game with all the standard blackjack game maneuvers. It will also feature up to 4 player online cross-platform multiplayer. But the hook of the game is the whole Super Street Fighter 2 aesthetic, and the game nails that down pat. All the characters are inspired by Headsup Games staff, but there’s definitely a liberal dose of 1990s fighting game style:
The singleplayer works in a clever way, where you’re playing to have more money than your opponent after 10 rounds. So, if you get a big lead, you might want to play conservatively and see if they fall out, or try to extend your lead. The AI will play a bit dumber and more recklessly in earlier battles, but smarter the further you go. Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo Edition is expected to hit Steam first in March, with mobile shortly afterward.
