If you’re in mood to go on a one-way literary trip towards the center of the galaxy, then the upcoming game Voyageur, launching for iOS and Android February 7th, is for you. As you might remember from the last time we wrote about the game, Voyageur was produced in partnership with Failbetter Games, of Fallen London fame, and is in interactive science fiction story. On your way to the center of the galaxy, you’ll encounter strange life forms and civilizations, assemble your own crew of misfits (of course), and even try your hand at trading. There’s even a deeper secret about the Descent Device, an alien machine that allows FTL travel, that you can uncover, if your worthy.
Think of this game as Fallen London‘s narrative mechanics combined with a procedural story and a taste of roguelike. I love narrative games, so I’m excited to check out Voyageur‘s take on the genre. The game will cost $3.99 and will have no IAPs. And if you want to learn more about the game’s development, check out the developer diaries – but be aware of possible spoilers.
