Last year was another great year for RPGs on iOS, and it was especially good if you like ones that you can get lost in for dozens of hours. If you’re still filling out your list from 2016, I’ve got some good news about two of them, at least. Both Siralim 2 ($4.99) from Thylacine Studios and The Quest HD ($7.99) from Redshift are on sale for the first time ever, letting you dive into some huge fun at discounted prices. It’s worth mentioning that it’s very rare for either of these developers to have sales, so if you’ve been waiting, well, don’t wait too much longer.
The Quest HD is a first-person, turn-based, open-world RPG that will be right up your alley if you like classic PC RPGs like Daggerfall or Might & Magic. You’ll travel a huge world, solving quests, improving your skills, and finding new gear. As a mobile RPG fan, I consider The Quest in its various forms to be an essential part of any iOS RPG library. Feel free to check out our review of The Quest HD or the RPG Reload File on the non-HD version for more information.
Siralim 2 is a little harder to describe concisely. It’s a little bit roguelike, a healthy dose of a monster-catching RPG, and a teeny-tiny bit of a base builder. It features complex turn-based battling and the ability to customize your team of creatures to a ridiculous degree. It’s basically a bottomless pit of satisfaction for mechanically-inclined RPG players. It’s also one of those games that is constantly being updated with new content. The App Store notes for The Quest HD says its sale will last the week, but I couldn’t find any information on how long the Siralim 2 sale will be going on for. As usual, if you want these prices, you’d best act quickly. Both games are unbelievable values even at their regular prices, but at a discount, they’re the perfect ways to pass those cold wintry days when you don’t want to get out of bed.
