Glyph Quest: Chronicles, the third in the Glyph Quest games, has opened its closed beta applications, and if you want to get in, you shouldn’t wait too long because the slots are limited. Chronicles is a puzzle game similar to the two that came before it, but it adds quite a lot a new ideas to the mix. For instance, there are new powerful glyphs you can get for matching four pieces, a new technique that allows you to exercise some control over your glyphs, and a new gameplay mode called Doomsday that throws a timer your way, and more. You can read more about the game in Shaun’s hands-on from TGS 2016.
As you can see in the forums, the developers have decided to go F2P with this one unlike the previous game in the series, Super Glyph Quest, and as is always the case, that decision has been made with skepticism, to put it kindly. Personally, I don’t care about the monetization system of a game as long as it makes sense for what the game is, doesn’t get in the way of gameplay, and makes developers money (don’t forget, developers aren’t non-profits). Of course I have no idea how the monetization in this specific game will work, so we’ll see. If you want to get your hands on the game, go here to sign up.
