It’s no secret that I’m a massive Mooff Games fanboy. From the action platforming excellence in Blackmoor (Free) to the old-school brawler nostalgia found in Maximus (Free) and the Smash Bros-esque all out fight that is Super Boys – The Big Fight (Free), Mooff has a knack for making games that are just plain FUN. One of Mooff’s earliest hits on mobile was the side-scrolling shoot ’em up Toon Shooters (Free) which, like most of their games, harkened back to some of gaming’s classics like R-Type and Gradius. Well, as we learned last month, a sequel has been in the works which promised to bring more wacky shooter fun as well as a very interesting-sounding cross-platform 4-player co-op mode. Today Mooff has announced that the sequel, called Toon Shooters 2 – The Freelancers, is all primed and ready for release this week on November 10th.
Toon Shooters 2 will bring 10 brand new stages, 12 epic boss fights, 6 playable characters and (perhaps most important of all) 8 pets to fight at your side and help decimate everything in your path. As for the co-op mode, it’ll work cross-platform between iOS, Android, Apple TV, and hopefully Steam so there should hopefully be a nice-sized player base for co-op shenanigans. Oh, and all you MFi controller folks? Those are supported here, too. I’m incredibly excited for Toon Shooters 2 so look for it this Thursday, and in the meantime check out the discussion happening in our forums.
