BeaverTap Games is returning to the series that put them on the map, the Mikey series, with the new game Mikey Jumps. This is a one-touch platformer that combines elements of the entire Mikey trilogy into one game. All levels take place on a single screen, and have you trying to make it through the various hazards, utilizing the grappling hook from Mikey Hooks ($1.99) when appropriate, and picking up the jet boots from Mikey Boots ($1.99) when they pop up. The catch is that you have to complete each world without running out of lives before having to start over from the beginning.
Mikey Jumps will be free-to-play, and will feature both a lives doubler and a coin doubler. Coins are used to play the slot machine to unlock new customizations, with the catch being that you get one of three choices from the slot machine. While speedrun aficionados might miss the lack of those elements from Mikey Jumps, it’s a pretty cool restructuring of the Mikey Shorts ($1.99) formula for a new game for the modern mobile era. Check it out on November 10th.
