Back in early June, we told you about Kobojo Games’ plan to combine Candy Crush-like match-3 with Hearthstone-like deck building and sprinkle in a dash of real-time strategy in their upcoming game Primal Legends, and while that sounds like an awful lot of genre-mashing, I was really excited at the prospect based on the trailer we posted. Well, we won’t have long to wait to find out how this mashup turned out as the developers have announced that Primal Legends is launching on iOS and Android next Thursday, August 11th sometime in mid-August. Here’s that trailer again in case you missed it back in June.
If you’re anxious for even more on Primal Legends ahead of its release, the Kobojo Games YouTube channel has some more videos besides this trailer above, including hero spotlights and tips videos. I’m not much of a deck-building game fan, but I absolutely love competitive multiplayer puzzle games and have lost countless hours playing 4-player Tetris with buddies on the couch. I’m hoping the real-time multiplayer in Primal Legends can give me a similar dose of fun. It’s not all about multiplayer though as there’s a hefty single-player mode with 150 levels and 8 game modes as well. Look for Primal Legends on the iOS and Android app stores next Thursdaylater this month for free.
UPDATE: The PR firm has reached out to let us know that they erroneously announced August 11th as the release date for Primal Legends, but have clarified they expect it to launch in mid-August instead.
