‘Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade’ Competition Will Send the Winner a Custom-Painted Imperial Knight

TouchArcade Rating:

Now, this is the kind of competition I can actually get behind. Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade (Free) has decided to help players’ Imperial Knights cross over from the digital to the physical world by running a clever competition for all players of the game. As you probably very well know, Warhammer is famous for its amazing kits that when professionally painted look amazing and when painted by someone like me look like a mech fell in a couple of buckets of paint and barely managed to survive the experience. Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade players can now enter a competition by using the in-game livery creation tools to make their Knights look as fantastic as possible, then using the snapshot mode to submit photos of their Knight using social media integration (using new functionality added this week to the game).

The winner of the competition will be selected by a Games Workshop panel of judges and he or she will receive an assembled Imperial Knight model professionally painted in the player’s winning livery. Your Knight should end up looking something like the ones sold here (and do look at the price). The competition will run until May 26th, so plenty of time to get that Knight looking great for the judges. I like this idea a lot as it awards players’ creativity and blends the digital with the physical in a very clever way. You can find out more details on the competition in game.
