When I reviewed the excellent Exploding Kittens ($4.99), I talked about how it’s a blast of a game that was a couple of features away from being amazing (that was the actual review title). While I take no credit for the changes, I’m glad to say the developers have just released an update addressing most of my minor complaints. Specifically, the developers have just made the game even more interactive by adding a bunch of fun emotes ranging from simple hellos to throwing tantrums (I plan to use this one too often). The emotes are accompanied by cute sound effects, and, fortunately, you can mute any of the other players. I think this will make games with friends much more fun and games with strangers even weirder (in a fun way, of course).
The update also lets you change your avatar and your name from the home page (prior to this you could only do it while waiting in the lobby prior to a round starting). And, of course, there are the usual improvements and bug fixes. I’m glad to see the developers improving the game constantly since this bodes well for the future of the game. I wonder how soon we’ll see new cards in the game. Okay, enough talking; go irritate your friends.
