As you can probably remember, Obsidian’s Pathfinder Adventures was supposed to come out March 29th, and I, along with many of you, had been waiting for that date quite impatiently. Alas, it was not to be. As Obsidian announced yesterday, the developers decided to push back the release date to April 26th, so we won’t be getting the game for another month. However, this is a good thing/bad thing kind of situation because the reason behind the delay is so the developers can evaluate all of the beta players’ feedback and see how they ccan improve the game. They’ll be looking at pretty much everything, from visual polish to card balance and general gameplay.
After playing the game for quite a bit, I can see how the game could be improved a bit, although as a whole Pathfinder Adventures is fantastic. If you don’t know much about the game, Pathfinder Adventures is a card game based on Pathfinder Card Game and Pathfinder RPG. It’s a cooperative game for 1-4 players in which players play unique characters, each with his or her own deck of cards and set of stats. It’s a really fun blend of RPG and CCG, and if you enjoy either of those genres, you should definitely take a look at it once it comes out. If you want to read a bit more about the game and see plenty of screenshots, check out my story from a couple of weeks ago. So, let’s all now patiently wait until April 26th.
