Superplus Games is a studio formed up of ex-Rovio developers, and they’re releasing their game Retro Shot on February 25th. Now, being that they’re ex-Rovio, that means the game should be well-made, right? Well, sometimes there’s a reason why developers are ex-developers of a certain company. Sometimes it’s just that someone who was talented at one part of big-budget game development might not be so adept at making entire games on their own on indie development budgets. It happens. So, with me raising your expectations, then lowering them, let me raise them once more, because Retro Shot looks rad:
That’s right, rad. It’s got that 80’s inspired look, but features modern 3D visuals, with crazy, laser-filled mini-golfing action full of pinball-esque elements. And, explosions! Explosions are frequently missing from mini-golf in real life. But not Retro Shot, it’s both the past and future of mini-golf. This one releases for free on Thursday, February 25th.
