Yesterday I was lamenting the fact that there wasn’t any good Bomberman games on the App Store, and apparently developer The Clash Soft felt the same as he was taking it upon himself to create his own homage to classic Bomberman with the upcoming Ninja Boy Adventures. Well today Clash Soft posted a brand new video in our forums showing how Ninja Boy Adventures plays with an MFi controller, specifically a Mad Catz C.T.R.L.i Micro. The video offers a lengthy look at a typical play session of Ninja Boy Adventures, check it out.
I’ve actually been able to check out an early build of Ninja Boy Adventures, and I can safely say this is old-school Bomberman through and through, from the level designs to the power-up items and even the enemy behaviors. It’s really awesome! My one complaint would be that it’s a bit tough to move as quickly and precisely as you sometimes need to in a game like this using the virtual analog stick. I don’t think it’s a bad stick per se, it’s just the nature of Bomberman gameplay. Sometimes you need to quickly evade a blast by dodging around the corner of a block, but not TOO far as you’re trying to avoid another blast in the walkway parallel to the one you just dodged. That sort of thing. I’m warming up to it though, so don’t fret, and the MFi support should help a ton for those who have controllers. Ninja Boy Adventures should be coming fairly soon at a price of $1.99 with no IAP or ads, so stay tuned.
