World of Tanks: Blitz (Free) has decided to go all Japanese with its latest 2.4 update as it has introduced a full line of medium and light tanks, all ready to join the battle. Most of these tanks have good guns but relatively weak armors, but there should be fun to be had with the Chi-Ri (VII), the first autoloader in the game, and the Tier X STB-1, a pretty mobile tank with a pretty big cannon. There’s also a new premium British Vehicle, the Excelsior. The update also adds a new map, Himmelsdorf, reworks the Lost Temple map, adds Clan channel history to help communication between clan members, and many bug and fixes. In addition, the developers have updated the render engine and added support for Direct X11 to the already exisiting support for OpenGL. This allowed them to significantly improve the graphics quality and performance on most devices along with fixing the issue of incorrectly displaying tanks located behind buildings, something that confused many players.
To celebrate the update, Wargaming.net is offering players 2 days of Premium Account. All you have to do is play at least one battle between December 12th at 11 CET and December 13th 11 CET. If you don’t know what Premium Account does, it lets you earn extra XP and credits when fighting, a huge boost for when you are trying to get to that higher tier tank. The developers also announced the March of the Samurai event where the game measures the number of battles played in the Type 3 Chi Nu, Chi To, Chi Ri, STA-1, Type 61, and STB-1. If they hit the target of 500,000 battles combined, everyone who’s played at least 30 battles in the new Japanese tanks will get 5 days of Premium and a garage slot. The Event started yesterday on the 9th and will go on until December 16th. So, roll out Japanese style.
