‘Hearthstone’ ‘Winter Veil’ Event is Giving us an Older Tavern Brawl and a Deal on Classic Packs

TouchArcade Rating:

Today’s Hearthstone (Free) Tavern Brawl is a repeat performance of Encounter at the Crossroads, a pretty fun Brawl from the early days of the mode. Now, before you get all disappointed and call Blizzard lazy, consider what happened last week; the Tavern Brawl went up, then came crashing down, only to go up a few hours later. While I have absolutely no information about Blizzard’s plans, I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to play it safe this week and not go all crazy with another intense Brawl like last week’s Decks Assemble. At the same time, I could be wrong and perhaps this was Blizzard’s plan all along. Still, it’s good to know that we shouldn’t be having any issues with this week’s Brawl (famous last words, I know).

Encounter at the Crossroads has players pick a class and then play with completely random decks. In other words, there will be a lot of praying to RNGesus during the next few days, but that’s pretty entertaining, at least for me. RNG-heavy Brawls that let me play with cards I don’t own are my kind of Brawls because I don’t care much about making my own decks for Brawls. The Brawl is out in NA, so go pray and play.

In addition to the Brawl, we are now officially in the Winter Veil event where Hearthstone‘s boards get all wintry and the emotes are all holiday-related. Also, Blizzard is giving 10 Classic packs free if you purchase a bundle of 40 Classic packs, not a bad deal if you are still trying to get those pesky Classic cards. Enjoy your Hearthstone Winter!
