November’s been a crazy month for board game lovers; we got Brass, Steam: Rails to Riches, Le Havre: The Inland Port, and apparently we might also get Uwe Rosenberg’s 2013 Glass Road if all goes as planned. If you haven’t played Glass Road, it’s a resource management and tile placement game for 1-4 players set in the glass-making Bavarian forests of the olden days. You have to manage your glass and brick production all the while chopping down trees to keep the fires burning and so on (pretty standard Euro board game stuff). You also have 15 specialists to help you get that glass-making going and the money coming in.
I haven’t played this specific board game, but if you like Euro board games, you rarely go wrong with Uwe Rosenberg. As you can see from the trailer, the game has the same art as the board game, can be played either in solo mode, hot-seat mode, or online multiplayer mode, and looks really, really pretty. It’s really funny how we got almost no good digital board games for months and all of a sudden we don’t know which one to play first. If all goes well with Apple’s review process, Glass Road should hit iOS and Android by the end of November.
