I think it’s no secret that Tiger Style’s latest iOS release, Spider: Rite Of The Shrouded Moon (Free), hasn’t been selling as well as the developer had hoped. The game is outstanding, a multi-layered box of delightful puzzles that seems to fold over onto itself while weaving a mysterious story. It reviewed well here at TouchArcade and elsewhere, the members of our forums loved it, and people are still working on sorting out some of the game’s deeper secrets. It’s hard to say what exactly went wrong here, but if you’ve been holding out on picking up the game, now is the time to do it, because it just went on sale for the first time ever.
Regularly priced at $4.99, you can currently grab Spider: Rite Of The Shrouded Moon for just $1.99. While the core gameplay of skittering around as a spider hunting insects for food isn’t that far removed from the original Spider: The Secret Of Bryce Manor (Free), the sequel builds heavily on those basic concepts to create a game quite unlike any other. Do you keep track of the current moon phase? Do you pay attention to the weather and time when you’re firing up your device? Well, you will.
At the time of writing, I couldn’t find any indication of why this sale is happening or its duration, but the Android version had a recent sale and it only lasted one week. If you’re interested in the game, now is the time to start searching high and low for eight quarters. Should you happen to come across any cobwebs during your coin hunt, remember: be kind. It might be someone you know!
Edit: Apparently, this was meant to be part of a Hallowe’en sale starting the following day, but was put on sale (temporarily) prematurely. Tune in tomorrow, friends!
