Fighting games can be loads of fun when done right, with Street Fighter still going strong after what feels like a hundred years. More recently, Injustice: Gods Among Us and Marvel Contest of Champions have been doing quite well on mobile, even though they aren’t the most complex fighting games ever created. Now, Reliance Games is getting ready to join the fray with its upcoming Zombie Deathmatch, a zombie on zombie fighting game with “the widest assortment of one and two-gesture moves to learn and master," which I hope means there’s more than just two kicks and two punches. You’ll play as an “immune," a human who cannot turn into a zombie, also known as the best person to be if you have to live through a zombie apocalypse.
You’ll be forming a horde consisting of Brutes, Maulers, and Stalkers, each of the classes having unique skills and abilities. This class mechanic should create an interesting meta as long as the classes are different enough to really require different strategies. As you can see from the gameplay trailer, this one looks really nice and is apparently optimized for iOS9 and Split View. Now you can watch stuff on one side while beating up zombies on the other; what has society come to?
The game is coming out at some point this month and will be F2P. If Zombie Deathmatch is tickling your fancy, you can go to the website and register for a pre-launch reward in the form of a homemade axe. I have to say, this one looks like a fun one, and with its theme and graphic nature, it’s coming out just in time for Halloween. Get ready to build an army of zombies, equip it with ‘fun’ weapons, and set it against the zombie hordes.
