Beveled Edge Studios is about to launch their first game on mobile, and it’s looking a pretty cool take on radial Breakout. Starific is the name of the game, and it will have you trying to keep a ball bouncing and hitting stuff in a round arena, sure. But the game is about style: there’s plenty of colorful explosions, powerups, and multiple game modes of varying amounts of colorful chaos to partake in:
If you want to try out Starific for yourself, you can do so in a web-based HTML5 demo that you can play on a desktop. Sadly, it won’t work on mobile, but them’s the breaks. The developers claim the game works a lot better with touch controls, but you can at least get a taste of how this should all work. There’s plenty of potential fun to be had here. There’s no release date quite yet, but expect this one to be free, with Crossy Road (Free) style monetization for extra themes.
