Telltale’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Episode 1 Free For The First Time

TouchArcade Rating:

I believe that Telltale is so excited about the warm weather that the company’s convinced Winter isn’t coming. So, to celebrate, Telltale has dropped the price of the first episode of Game of Thrones (Free) to zero for the first time since the game released. Now, some would say that this price drop is simply to celebrate the release of Episode 5, but I like my version of events better. And if I’m wrong, may one of the dragons come and eat me. If you haven’t played the game yet, Game of Thrones starts at a pivotal moment from the books and TV show (no spoilers). You play as a character from a minor house, House Forrester, and throughout the six episodes (there’s one more to come), you get to meet many of the famous characters from the books, all of whom are voiced by the original actors.

Telltale Game of Thrones

What I like about Telltale’s take on A Song of Ice and Fire is how it managed to focus on the small and local (unlike the books that are usually about the grandiose and momentous) while still making you and your characters feel like an important part of the whole story. Telltale has deftly captured the spirit and mood of the original story while giving you the opportunity to write it the way you want. Okay, maybe the options you get aren’t that groundbreaking in the grand scheme of things, but still, playing around in Martin’s world is a lot of fun. Episode 1 is now free for the first time, but I don’t know for how long, so I suggest you go buy it if you want to experience the cruelty of Martin’s world first hand.
