How well has Fallout Shelter (Free) done for Bethesda so far? Well, according to SuperData, the game made $5.1 million in its first two weeks on the App Store. The game hovered around the top 10 grossing for those first two weeks, and since has seen a decline in both downloads and grossing ranks. The game is at #39 right now, which is estimated at about $40,000 in daily revenue at that rank.
This might be why Bethesda needs to put out more content for the game – people are definitely hitting a wall with it, and if people that want to play the game are quitting, and then not buying more card packs, Bethesda is throwing money away. Hopefully they’re cranking out that Android version and significant new content updates beyond new dwellers, because if they do so, and get more downloads and ascend the ranks again, Fallout Shelter could rival Fallout 4 in terms of how much money it will make. Cranking out new content and keeping players interested is how Clash of Clans (Free) and other top-grossing games stick around on the list; Bethesda could join them if they start doing so themselves.
