If you enjoy playing platformers on your mobile device, you might want to keep an eye out for Gasoliq, the first game by developers Bros Universe. Gasoliq puts you in the space boots of a hero capable of shape shifting, becoming solid, liquid, or gaseous. This little green guy (I knew aliens were small, green men) will have to use the appropriate form for each enemy; for instance, if he wants to beat a fiery enemy, he needs to turn to liquid. Having a hero that changes forms can introduce a variety of game mechanics that, if done well, can keep the platforming action from becoming stale.
The game looks quite colorful and the art crisp; of course, all that will be moot if the game doesn’t control well, and we won’t know how it plays until we get our hands on it. Judging from the art and design information on the game’s page in our forums, the developers seem to have put a lot of thought into Gasoliq‘s art direction; I just hope they’ve worked just as hard on the game’s controls. Gasoliq plays on both iPhone and iPad, will be F2P, and should be hitting the App Store at some point in July.
