If you’ve been playing Alto’s Adventure ($4.99), the atmospheric endless runner, for any respectful length of time, you’ll know that you could collect thousands of coins but not have many choices on where to spend those riches. Actually, only a premium game like Alto’s Adventure would give you plenty of coins and nowhere to spend them on because if this game had been F2P, I can guarantee you that you would’ve been faced with the opposite problem: great number of items to buy, not enough money to do so.

With the 1.1 update that’s just arrived, you can finally empty your pockets as the Workshop now sells Helmets, which protect you from a single crash, Pickaxe Chasm Rescue, which saves you after falling into a chasm, a Llama Horn, which causes a llama stampede, a Llama Horn Strengh, which increases the number of llamas in each stampede, and a Wingsuit Timer, which can increase the duration of the wingsuit timer. As you can tell, now you can extend your runs, but since these items don’t come cheap (the Chasm Rescue costs 3,000), the game’s challenge remains quite intact. In addition to the Workshop items, Alto’s Adventure now supports 5 new languages (Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian), and also 64-bit devices and Apple’s Metal, so expect performance improvements if you’re lucky enough to own one of those devices. So, go buy more items while gliding even more smoothly than before.
