Have you ever said to yourself, “Man, I love Adventure Time, but it sure would be awesome if I could drive Jake the Dog." (Who hasn’t?) Well, your dreams are about to come true. Cartoon Network is on the verge of releasing Formula Cartoon All Stars, which is a cart racer with an isometric view point and controls that feel a lot like Super Offroad from back in the day. …But there’s one more thing that makes this game noteworthy: It’s actually going to be a premium title released at $3.99 instead of loaded to the brim with free to play shenanigans.
In the game, characters from Adventure Time, Regular Show, Clarence, Uncle Grandpa, and a bunch of other seemingly popular Cartoon Network properties that I’m apparently too old to know about all get mashed up to race in tracks similarly inspired by the various shows. You’ll be able to race all these guys in normal AI races as well as against friends via a asynchronous multiplayer mode. Oh, and the carts are all customizable too.
I got a chance to give the game a spin at E3, and it’s pretty rad. I think the best way to describe it is feeling sort of similar to Reckless Racing 3 ($2.99) but significantly more cartoony (obviously). If you’re in to premium racing games, definitely keep your eyes peeled for this one, it should be hitting the App Store soon.
