Adventure games are currently one of the biggest genres (excluding the F2P ones) on iOS with some great ports – more recently Grim Fandango and all the Telltale games – and also some great made-for-iOS adventure games- like Simogo’s Year Walk – gracing our tablets and phones. Among the companies porting great adventure games to iOS is Wadjet Eye, which has so far ported the amazing Gemini Rue ($4.99), the first three installments of the Blackwell series, and Shivah. The company has just announced that after recovering from Apple’s 8.3 Update (more and more developers are saying that 8.3 really broke their games), it has managed to fix all the issues the update caused to the ports currently under development. Wadjet Eye is now planning to get Blackwell Deception, Blackwell Epiphany, and Primordia on iOS in that order.
While the Blackwell games are quite fun, I’m more excited about Primordia coming to iOS. The post-apocalyptic story of a stoic robot who values his solitude and independence caught my attention when it came out on PC, and I can’t wait to enjoy it on my tablet. Hopefully, A Golden Wake and Technobabylon will be next in line. I have no further information on actual release dates for the adventure games, but hopefully they’ll come soon.
