Noodlecake is Publishing Roguelike Shoot ’em Up ‘Shooting Stars’ This Summer

Not long ago, we wrote about Shooting Stars, the impressive-looking shoot ’em up with roguelike elements from Bloodirony Games. We thought it looked pretty great. Well, Noodlecake Games apparently thought so, too, and have announced that they’re picking the game up for publication and will be helping out with the game’s development. Noodlecake says they’ll be taking on a similar role as they did with Tiltagon (Free), where they helped with the controls and monetization of the game.

Shooting Stars is on track for a release in July. You’ll be taking out aliens who are impersonating celebrities, so you must destroy them with a bevy of absurd weapons, including laser cats. Everyone loves laser cats. You’ll be playing through two modes: Card Collection, where you go through randomly-generated levels to unlock cards which provide new ultimate weapons to use; a Daily Challenge will task all players with trying to make it through the same level based on the same generated seed. Keep an eye on this one, folks.
