Gravity Software, creators of Religion Simulator ($2.99), have a new game in the works called Stella’s Journey, which is releasing next Thursday, April 30th. This is a platformer of sorts, where you control Stella, a girl who has been turned into a paper box. I know, it seems like every other game is about a girl who has been turned into a paper box, but stick with me here. You control the wind that flies Stella around, as you allow her to pick up objects, manipulate switches, and avoid hazards and enemies. The production values aren’t the greatest, but the concept is neat and fun to play around with.

Stella’s Journey will be available as a paid release for $2.99 on April 30th. It also will be updated with Apple Watch support afterward, which will have minigames playable on the Watch, along with the ability to control the game from the Watch. It’s designed so that you have the watch in front of you, not just on your wrist, but I’m still curious as to how well that will actually work out.

Still, we’re in the early days of smartwatch gaming and it’ll be interesting to see what works, and what sticks with users. And I’m up for anyone with a clever idea trying it out. Stella’s Journey is a nifty-enough game, and the controls might just work for it? The update with Apple Watch support is expected on May 10th, with the base game out on April 30th.
