After the success of Monument Valley ($3.99), it seems like we’re bound to hit upon other developers looking to do gorgeous, abstract puzzle-adventure games. This is a trend I can get behind – and it’s what Last Voyage is seemingly trying to do, while also standing out. What kind of game is Last Voyage? Well, it’s actually five different kinds of game in one.
There are five chapters, and each one is centered around a different type of play, including both puzzle-solving and even fast-reaction type games. It’s a fascinating combination where you really don’t quite know what’s going to happen next. Semidome’s doing something pretty neat here with Last Voyage that isn’t just another Monument Valley, and if you enjoy a bit of twitch gameplay to go along with abstract worlds, this might hit the spot. Expect this one to launch on April 2nd for $1.99. Until then, you can watch the trailer above and listen to the soundtrack.
