One of the cooler Super Crate Box (Free) style games from 2014 was Choice Provisions’ Woah Dave ($4.99), which was about picking up exploding skulls and flinging them at enemies, preferably in their unhatched egg form. And if you didn’t have any skulls, then you would fling the unhatched eggs at hatched enemies to get rid of them, trying to keep them from getting into the lava below and overwhelming you. Fun times were had by all. Choice Provisions is updating the game and making it into Woah Dave Deluxe, available soon as a free update.
Woah Dave Deluxe will have two new levels, including one with portals, and another with moving platforms on the sides of levels, throwing new wrinkles into your high score strategies. A number of new characters have been added, including characters from the Bit.Trip games. If you’re good enough, maybe you can hop in the rideable UFO at some point. And if all this sounds like it’s too much, you can play in Classic Mode and pretend like Deluxe Mode’s additions never happened. The update is available now for the Steam version of the game, and it’s coming to other platforms, and of course the mobile version, soon.
