Puppet Punch is an interesting action game to keep an eye on as it releases worldwide at the end of January, after a soft launch currently taking place in Canada. Players control Pablo, or more accurately, Pablo’s fists. Pablo has to fend off a number of dastardly puppets that want to attack him, so he must punch them as they drop down. Some of the puppets have protections, so just rapid punching all over the screen won’t quite work to deal with the puppet peril Pablo’s placed in.
Thankfully, Pablo also can collect coins, which, hey, if I was being attacked by puppets, I’d probably want to make some money off of the ordeal too. The coins go toward a bevy of things: there’s boost items that can be used mid-battle, ability upgrades, and cosmetic upgrades to use as well. The game is free-to-play with a two-tier currency, the hard currency of mechs used for revives and early unlocks, with incentivized video ads available to get some for free. The game is currently soft-launched in Canada, and will be releasing worldwide on January 29th.
