Super Evil Megacorp’s mobile MOBA Vainglory was one of the stars of Apple’s iPhone 6 keynote back in September, and has actually been in a soft-launch period since this past June. It was originally conceived as an iPad-only game, but with larger iPhones entering into the mix, the Super Evil folks made the decision to create an iPhone version of the game as well. Just a couple of weeks back, the final release date was revealed for the game and it would be staggered across regions, with Europe getting the game last Thursday while us here in North America (as well as South America, the Middle East and Africa) had to wait until tomorrow, November 18th for our Vainglory fix. Well, whether it was intentional or not, it looks like Vainglory (Free) has actually launched just a bit ahead of schedule, and is now available in the US App Store.
As for those regions other than the US, I’ve poked around a bit and it appears that Vainglory is out in those too, but there are a lot of different App Stores and I haven’t been able to check them all. To the best of my knowledge, the game is out in all the regions that were planned so far. Unfortunately, those in Japan, Korea and China will have to wait for an official announcement from Super Evil Megacorp for when Vainglory will be available in those particular regions. If you’re in the US, Europe, or any of the other regions where the game is officially available, definitely give the free download a shot and let us know what you think of it in our forums.
