Hot off the press, Ravenous Games has just posted in our forums the first screenshots for their upcoming game Random Heroes 3. If you aren’t familiar with the Random Heroes series, they’re run ‘n gun style platforming games that feature a wide variety of playable characters and a plethora of awesome weapons to unlock and upgrade. There’s normal characters like a cop or a cheerleader, but also crazier ones like the evil scientist from the League of Evil series or a machine gun-toting Abraham Lincoln. Check out the first two screens from the newest entry Random Heroes 3.
Overall the first Random Heroes (Free) was a strong effort, but the levels were a bit bland in design and quite a bit too lengthy. It just ended up feeling boring and flat. Random Heroes 2 (Free), however, totally redeemed itself with much more interesting level designs as well as the ability to shoot at angles. It may not sound like much, but in the original game you were stuck shooting straight ahead of you in a horizontal line, and the ability to angle your shots really made the game a million times more fun.
So, seeing as Random Heroes 2 turned out so well, I’ve got high hopes for Random Heroes 3. So far Ravenous hasn’t divulged many details on the game just yet, but they’re hanging out in our forums and will no doubt be dropping more info, so check it out.
