If you’re in to huge robots, explosions, and huge robots exploding chances are there isn’t a stronger blip on your radar right now than the release of Transformers: Age of Extinction on June 27th. If nothing else, the teaser trailer both looks pretty cool and features Marky Mark:
Well, it seems like there’s some kind of unwritten rule now that every summer blockbuster needs to have some kind of mobile game accompanying it. DeNA has taken up the challenge here to release Transformers: Age of Extinction – The Official Mobile Game. This “3D combat runner game" is going to be free to play (surprise!) and features all sorts of recognizable characters from the Transformers universe to play as. You’ll complete missions, fight through different environments, and all that other stuff you do in free to play runners.
It’s coming “later this year" which I’m guessing means around the same time as the movie as it wouldn’t make much sense for it to come out any other time. Will Transformers: Age of Extinction – The Official Mobile Game escape the curse of the movie game? Only time will tell, but if you’re interested enough by what you’ve heard so far to sign up on their web site, like most DeNA releases you’ll get some kind of in-game item bonus when the game finally launches.
