It’s no secret that Nintendo’s Animal Crossing has been highly successful in its handled form, and the 3DS version was even out of stock for quite some time in Japan. It’s curious then that we haven’t yet seen a game quite like that on iOS. Stolen Couch Games thought that was strange too and they decided to create their own take on it. Castaway Paradise is everything you’d expect from a game of that genre. It features houses you can customize, a village to rebuild and plenty of activities like fishing, farming and bug-hunting. It’s also running real-time which means that special events will happen on certain days or at night. Today, Stolen Couch Games has released a new trailer showcasing the customization aspect. There’s still no release date for it yet, but Castaway Paradise has been available in Canada since the end of November of last year. A lengthy soft-launch should hopefully mean that all bugs will be squashed come launch day. It’s iPad-only for right now, but an iPhone version is planned.
