Gameloft hit the nail on the head when it comes to over-the-top arcade style racers with Asphalt 8: Airborne (Free), but today they’ve announced that they’re also getting back into the sim-style racing scene with a follow-up to their 2011 racer GT Racing: Motor Academy (Free). It’s called GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience, and here’s the first dubstep-laden trailer.
GT Racing 2 was developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, and will feature a collection of 67 cars from 35 different manufacturers, as well as real-world tracks from around the world. There will be extensive single-player and multiplayer modes, as you’d expect from a racing title. My current pick for best sim-racer on the App Store would have to be 2K Drive ($6.99), so I’m dying to see how GT Racing 2 will stack up when it launches for free later this fall.
