The game of pinball fits like a glove on iOS, and there are numerous options for the pinball gaming aficionado available on the App Store whether you’re in the mood for something more fantastical like Momonga Pinball ($1.99) or if you’re craving a digital recreation of landmark real-life tables like you can get in Pinball Arcade ($0.99).
Zen Studios has been in the iOS pinball game since the beginning, with their standalone Rollercoaster and Inferno titles landing way back in 2008 giving way to the Zen Pinball (Free) compilation app which you can get today. Zen Pinball features a selection of different titles, as well as a suite of Marvel Superhero themed tables available as IAP. This week, Zen Studios has announced another licensed property is coming to Zen Pinball with the upcoming Star Wars Pinball.
It’s set to land sometime this month as both its own standalone app as well as an IAP option in the Zen Pinball game. The initial batch of 3 tables in Star Wars Pinball will be themed after Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, one on Boba Fett the intergalactic bounty hunter, and one for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In addition to the iOS game, Star Wars Pinball will be available in the Zen Studios pinball games on Android, PlayStation 3, Vita, Xbox 360, Windows 8, and Mac. Star Wars Pinball sounds pretty cool, and in an attempt to enrage the geek community let me just say “live long and prosper!"
