so, it's just PapiJump, without the jumping, but with the dodging?
Beauty!
To me this looks like a failed and irritating attempt to rip off orisinal games' unique style. THOSE games are beautiful. (btw does this one remind you of anything?: http://www.ferryhalim.com/o...
This one looks like it's made out of a some clip art library: there's no graphic consistency. And how could they leave that bunch of huge animated seagulls like that in the background layer? I don't want to sound arrogant, but to me it comes as a surprise that the one word you found to the define this game was "beautiful".
Wow! Thanks for the review! I never would have dreamed to make it onto Touch Arcade without... I dunno... a magic lamp! This is a dream for us, and thanks for the positive words. We put our heart and soul into this game for three months and I'm glad you like it.
Also... I drew every bit of the game myself... sorry to let you down primavera :)
Thank you so much! Glad to see our hard work appreciated!
Will the game get updated with new level's? Five seems a bit short with not much replay value. It looks good and if there is some type of hope for new level's then I will buy it today. I love games like this :)
My first thought was that this was from Ferry Halims 'orisional' games and he was now developing for the iPhone. I wouldn't classify this as a rip off as the mechanics of the game are (as pointed out) quite old. The execution is _very_ similar though especially the choice of music.
Hey Evan, thanks for telling. I mentioned clip art because I don't see much graphic consistency, and some of the objects remind me of various clip art libraries. Just be looking at the webpage, I don't see any graphic connection between the girl, the balloon and the stars. This game may have a lot to give, it might have a great gameplay, I don't know, I didn't try it. I wouldn't have commented anything if it wasn't for the headline saying this game is "beautiful". To me it just doesn't seem right. With few exceptions, the level of taste and professionalism for graphic design in iphone games is still pretty low, and I wish important blogs like touchArcade would help raise the bar. No offense for either Veiled or touchArcade, it's just a criticism.
Slightly off topic- I didn't think Vimeo allowed game footage. TA tried once and got told off I believe.
Back on topic, does it end with the stars? Does it go through these sections repeatedly until you lose?
This kind of game is good as a little diversion, but I'd rather pay 59p for such a simple game than £1.19. Just my opinion.
Back off topic, I believe Vimeo allows it if you are the developer and own the rights to the copyrights.
And yeah seems like a 99 cent app to me.
I like the idea and the Forrest Gump-like music! Nice product and worth the money.
The only similarity with this and any Orisinal game is that it features a Red Balloon. Which you could say is a rip off of the movie "The Little Red Balloon." This game is an excellent remake of Fall Down/Up and it looks very pretty.
The video makes it look pretty fun, but was I the only one expecting to see an unfertilized egg waiting for the balloon at the end of its journey?
@oma More like PapiRiver, except scrolling up instead of down.
@Jon: Quite possibly.
I love the music - does anyone know what song that is? Or is it a game original?
