I'm almost finished with the evolution 30 levels. Anyone know how to get evolution points? I'm still unclear on the criteria for getting them. Anyway it's a good game. I was expecting a little more but still a good play. Not sure if it's worth the $10. Maybe I'd buy it for $7 or $8. Anyway worth a look for the curious.
I'm also interested in the length of gameplay. How many hours of play is in the whole game? For example, ToyBot Diaries was very fun and neat, but it was also short, which made sense because of the relatively low $3.99 price point.
Well for me I been playing maybe about 3 hours total and I'm almost done with evolution game play. I'm on stage 28. The replay value is there because I zoomed past most of the levels. And there's the survival mode still to play.
Whine. Too expensive. Whine. Should be given away free. Whine. I'm rushing to finish it as fast as I can and I'm already on level 30. Why doesn't it have 6000 levels? Why doesn't it have a million levels, better graphics and be given away free? I don't understand. Whine.
Thanks, The dude. I appreciate it when people take the time to help each other out. In terms of replay value, does it change the game significantly if you start out as a different type of organism or whatever?
Developer: I know what you're saying, and it does it frustrating when everyone wants more, more, more. However, I research about TVs, cars, and even books before I buy them, and I just wanted a little more information before deciding what to buy.
@ David It's no problem. There is only one type of organism you can customize it's look and shape. You can add on various items to help with defense, attack, movement, etc. I imagine the levels are similar if you go back and replay but I can't verify as I have not done so. I'm kind of stuck on stage 28.
@ Developer If you go back to my posts you would see that I'm not whining at all. I'm giving my opinion of the game. It's positives and negatives. I could understand if I gave asinine negatives but I was expecting more for $10 especially when the full version has gotten so much hype. As I said before in my opinion it's a good game but it could be better. Your sarcastic comments does nothing but waste space. Instead be an adult if you disagree with my assessment of the game then state reasons.
I just played this game for about 30 - 45 minutes (until my iPhone started bugging me about low battery) and made it to level 7 or so. It's certainly a fun game and so far I'm feeling ok about having spent $10 on it. I still haven't figured out for sure how evolution points work but I'd be interested if someone can explain that one.
Well this is what I've found on evolution points...
"You automatically earn one evolution point every 3 levels."
Seems to be sort of true. I dunno tho because I thought I remember I got 2 evolution points on one level. Though I could be mistaken.
This game (and the cellular stage in the full Spore game) have nothing on flOw in terms of depth, aesthetics, emergent gameplay and replay value. But until that game (or flash) comes to the iPhone I guess this is it.
@Easy Writer: I, too, noticed a great similarity between Spore Origins and flOw for the PS3.
@Easy Writer: I agree as well. Spore is fun, and I'm glad it kind of borrows some gameplay concepts from fl0w. But fl0w is definitely the better game.
very easy up until level 28 and then it gets Very hard. I don't see much replay value as most levels are the same. Survial mode is just 'asteroids', and a poor version at that. It held my attention for a couple of hours, tho I don't see what all the hype was about?
Developer, your cliched dry wit is most annoying--nothing worse than someone whining about someone else whining. Give it a rest already.
I like the game but I\'m afraid it has little to no replay value. There appear to be a limited number of parts that you can add-on to your creature and, given that you get an evolution point (you can get 2 on one level), by a certain point you max out and have every perk you can get. So it seems that you can change the look of your creature, but it eseentially will have the exact same traits in every game.
I\'m on level 29, so perhaps I\'m wrong on the degree of cuustomization (I\'ll add an additional comment as soon as I start again).
Otherwise, this game is so much better than of the other games for the iPhone -- it looks amazing and figuring out what the different creatures are in each level and how they affect you is fun.
I really enjoy messing with this game. Some people seem to think that you can get all the items very easily which isn't strictly true. Each of the first two items in each area can be upgraded 3 times (the super items can't be upgraded) So you can mess about with scaling certain items rather than having a base amount of points in all things.
Something people have missed is the novelty of using a photo as the skin for your creature and you can even take a picture with your iPhone 3G from within the game I found this an interesting novelty.
I'd like to see a versus game where you can pit your organism against friends and compete for food. I think the game is good value for money. At least it allows you to set your own steady point unlike Super Monkey Ball. I think this is an innovative way to play and uses the unique features of the Apple touch gadgets well.
Easy Writer & Eric:
You do know that the programmer behind fl0w admitted that he had been inspired by the demoes of Spore? Thus there's no "borrowing" of fl0w gamplay in spore, it is the other way round.
Well, I read this review because the screenshots and such of the game looked interesting, and when I found out this is just one stage of a full computer game, I looked up the computer version. I think I'm going to have to get the computer version instead because it looks very interesting.
If this game doesn't have the SPORE branding, i doubt anyone will bother playing it at all.
can u email me at [email protected], i can only play 10 levels, the evolution bar went away
Spore Origins is a lot of fun. Until you get stuck at level 29..... How to I conquer those very big fish? The help file says I should use other predators.... but how??
Any hints?
Ok basically for level 29 you get the one eyed fish to charge into the big fish I think but I don't know as I haven't finished that level but if you get food from one big fish there is a blue healing fish at the bottom and maybe using the healing fish and getting food from the big 3 eyed fish you could become full size and eat the one eyed fishes.
i am too stuck on that level, drives me crazy!!! and could someone please explain how to get evolution points.
it's a bitc*...I managed to get the one eyed "bull" fish to charge at me straight into a big three eye. Got about an eigth of the evo bar, with 4 food guppies...(more or less).....I wonder if they will eventually up grade to land based, ect.......riff
so is there no other level after level 29?!
i manage to get to lvl 30 and stuck there.. the instruction were not clear on how to defeat the giant to get the eggs.
on lvl 29, u need to annoy the fish to turn red and let it charge at the fat fish. u need to kill 2 fat fishes provided u eat all the small guppies after eeach fat fish die to win.
I cannot pass level 29!!!! I don't get it!!!!! Also, are there only 30 levels??? I wanna go on the land!!! I have heard rumors that there were only 30 levels..... I hope this isn't true.
I can't get past level 26 or whatever with the big fat orange giant fish with three eyes... i figured out that you have to have the spiney plants shoot daggers at you while you run away and hope that they hit the giant. Is there an easier way to get past this stupid level?? i hate the giant and i've replayed the level maybe ten times!!! HELP!!
now that i think about it, it was stupid level 29 GAAHH!!
I have all the spore games however I see u are all having problems with spore origins.
to get an evolution point u need to get a food combo by eating at least 5 worms in about 5 seconds of each other.
For those of you stuck on the fat orange fish level here is how to do it basicly there are atoms two charger fish around the fat fish u need to make them charge at u and then move so they hit it 3 times to kill it.
If anyone one bows how to get past level 30 please say
Hope this info helps
Hi, I am also stuck on the level 30, I tried many varieties of my creature, I figured out that maybe I have a part of way (or maybe not). If you have tortoise carapace and air flow (I am not sure about the name - it a short time speed boost super item) than you can get to the giant (blue big one with eggs - in right-top border) from any direction as close it as you want. The problem is that I can still get any egg from it ;-(...
If anyone knows how to get it please say it.. Thanks..
Sorry, my mistake, I wanted to say that I still can't get any egg from it..
Is there going to be a spore on the i pod where u can travel on land??
