'The Astonishing' Game Based on Dream Theater Concept Album Launches in February

While news has been quiet since the game's original reveal, Turbo Tap Games and progressive metal band Dream Theater's collaboration on The Astonishing, a game based on the concept album of the same name, is set to release in February. This digital board/strategy game, inspired by Turbo Tape's UHR-Warlords [$3.99 (HD)], the game will reenact the album's story from both sides of the conflict between the Raveskill Rebel Militia and the totalitarian Great Northern Empire of the Americas, with players taking on both campaigns that meet in an endgame scenario. Along with following the album's story, instrumentals of the album's music will provide the game's soundtrack, along with video material that was only available during live shows of The Astonishing in 2016...

I feel like this is exactly what the world needs: Dream Theater is getting a digital board game based off of their latest album The Astonishing. It's being made by Turbo Tape Games, the developers of Warhammer: Arcane Magic [$1.99] and UHR-Warlords [$3.99 (HD) / Free (HD)]. While many metal albums would make for interesting board game concepts, Dream Theater is providing Turbo Tape with a ton of material. I mean, The Astonishing is a double album that's also a rock opera about a rebel militia using the power of music to revolt against the Great Northern Empire of the Americas. If that doesn't sound like something that could be mined into a "board-based tactical strategy game," I don't know what does...
