Multiplatform MMO 'Albion Online' Gets iPhone Support in Current Mobile Beta, Might Require Devices with 3 GB of RAM

Albion Online for mobile officially started their beta test on November 23rd. It’s been a long road to mobile for Sandbox Interactive. As with any MMO, there have been plenty of changes, both within the PC version of the game and also on their plans for mobile. Initially it was stated that Albion Online would only be coming to tablets due to the way the smaller screens of iPhones impacted the UI. Now it seems the beta is open to any iOS device with at least 2 GB of RAM, however it seems end-state plans are still unclear...

'Albion Online' Kay Expansion Improves Guild vs. Guild Mode and Raids

Albion Online is finally getting closer to making its way to our tablets (since the game is going into beta soon). It also continues to grow and change. Next week, the Kay update will go live, and it's bringing some important changes to Guild vs. Guild Battles and Raids. Guild vs. Guild battles will see a new Season Mode, which will run for three months at a time. During a season, players will collect points with their guild for either holding onto resource territories or conquering enemy ones. At the end of the season, the guilds get a total score and the winning guilds get to have their emblems hoisted in Caerleon for the whole next season. And as long as your guild controls the territories, you all get a special currency you can use for exclusive items or new battle mounts...

Upcoming Cross-Platform MMORPG 'Albion Online' Is Looking for iOS Beta Testers

Albion Online is an upcoming cross-platform MMORPG that has been on our radar for a long time. We’ve even played the iPad version before but the release date for the final App Store version has evaded us. Well, we don’t have it right now but the team is looking for public beta testers on iOS right now. This is a step towards having it available on the store and you can sign up for the beta right here. Watch the gameplay trailer below:..

'Albion Online' "Joseph" Update Launches, Still No Word on iOS Client

Following the development of Albion Online has been a guilty pleasure of mine for quite a while, particularly with the comparisons many have made between Albion and Ultima Online, my all-time favorite game. We got a look at the tablet version last year, and while it's presumably still in the works, the developers are plugging right along with content updates for the PC client (which really will just make the mobile launch even better when it finally hits)...

Final 'Albion Online' Update Prior to PC Launch Improves the Outlands Territories

We've been keeping a pretty close eye on Albion Online, the cross-platform sandbox MMORPG that promises to bring to mobile a very complex and deep game. If you haven't heard of the game before, Albion Online will bring a PvE and PvP medieval fantasy world with a player-driven economy—where all equipment items are player-crafted—along with a unique classless system and much more. The game is scheduled to release on PC in July, and today the developers announced the last big update prior to release, and it's an important one indeed. The update will improve the Outlands, the lawless territories of the Albion world. The developers weren't happy with the way harbors and cities in the Outlands fulfilled their role of being a home for guilds that lack territory, so they will be replaced with a single access point, the city of Caerleon...

'Albion Online' Galahad Trailer Shows a Ton of Improvements and New Content

Albion Online is looking really good in its latest trailer, and I hope we get the game on mobile soon after it launches on PC in July. The trailer for the Galahad update shows off a new UI that should make the game easier to play, especially on tablet screens. Also, we can see the new landscape and biome cities introduced to the game and see how big the game world is. There are also new PvE expeditions, which are short encounters for one or more players. The update also brings improved visuals, more spells, and a ton more improvements, and it's finally looking like the game is in the final stretch...

'Albion Online' to Release on PC in July, Hopefully Mobile Version Won't be Too Far Off

We've been keeping a close eye on the development of Albion Online, the ambitious, sandbox, cross-platform MMORPG, and we finally have a PC release date; July 17th. Before you get too excited, keep in mind that the mobile release will come later - at least according to previous statements by the developers - but it's good to see that after quite a long beta period, the game development is coming to an end. We got to see the game at GDC 16, and it was very exciting to see such a complex game played on a tablet...

GDC 2016: A Quick Look at The Tablet Version of 'Albion Online'

We've been super stoked for Albion Online for a while now, and as a veteran of Ultima Online, there arew few things I'm looking forward to playing on my iPad more than this. Well, we got a brief look today at how the touch interface of the game is going to work, and, well, it's exactly like how it works on a PC with a mouse. One major correction from this video though, Albion Online is going to be universal. The experience likely won't be as great on the iPhone, but you will be able to play it on any device...

Upcoming Cross-Platform MMORPG 'Albion Online' Sees First Lore Book Released

If you're at all into fantasy MMORPG's, Albion Online should be somewhere on your radar. I've fiddled around a bit in the closed beta and it's definitely scratching all the right itches for me. If nothing else, the idea of playing the game on your PC/Mac, needing to go somewhere, and picking off exactly where you left off on your mobile device is super cool. I'm superbly reluctant to invoke comparisons of Ultima Online, but at least on the surface level, it feels pretty similar...

Cross-Platform MMORPG 'Albion Online' Closed Beta Starts Monday, "Classless Combat" Video Released

It's been a while since we talked about the upcoming cross-platform MMORPG Albion Online, but with the closed beta starting early next week and new videos being released it feels like a good time for an update. Our first post on Albion Online was more than a year ago when we took a look at a lengthy video of an early version of the game. This past June another new video was released and details on alpha testing emerged. This week, developer Sandbox Interactive has sent over their latest video which details the "classless combat" in Albion Online...

Upcoming Cross-Platform MMO, 'Albion Online', Releases New Trailer and New Information About Alpha Access

The developers of Albion Online, the upcoming single-server cross-platform MMO, have just released a new trailer detailing the game's features, which, to be honest, sound almost too good to be true. The game's been on our radar for some time, but now we have more information and a better idea of the game's scope. According to the trailer below and the website, Albion Online will let you live the medieval life of your dreams; you can fight, farm, trade, craft, build a house, join guilds, and much more. Now, I know that you can find these features in other MMOs, but what makes Albion Online stand out are the nuances of the various features and systems. Apparently, the game has a player-driven, complex economy affected by local events like conflicts. Everything in the game world is player-made or player-collected, which will probably make the world feel more interactive...

Check Out Over 30 Minutes of Gameplay of Upcoming Cross Platform MMORPG 'Albion Online'

I've had my eye on Albion Online since it first got posted to our forums in early 2013 for two reasons: I totally dig the art style, and it's making a bunch of promises on being the first true cross-platform MMORPG with aspirations beyond being some kind of watered down Facebook game. As someone who still plays World of Warcraft for some reason, the idea of being able to scratch my MMO itch laying in bed on my iPad is pretty compelling...
