Matchanics is an abstract physics-based action puzzle game, designed to take advantage of multi-touch and accelerometer input, with intuitive, pick-up-and-play, fun gameplay.

In Matchanics, circles of varying color and size are pushed, one by one, onto the playing area. Once on the playing area, the circles move under physics, sliding, rolling and bouncing around, and respond to tilt and being slid by your fingers.

Your task to get the circles into groups of the same color. When 3 or more circles of the same color are touching, you can tap the group to clear it, freeing up space. If new circles get blocked before they make it on, pressure builds and your game ends if it gets too high. To survive, you need to keep up with clearing groups.

However, just surviving isn't enough: you want a high score! To do that, the key is to make groups as large as you dare before clearing them, in order to boost the multiplier. Then you need to act fast if you want to make the most of a good multiplier. The scoring system gives the game a strong element of weighing up risk against reward, and also gives the game natural peaks and troughs in pacing.

The seven game modes provide experiences with different feels to suit different players and moods. A slow paced mode puts the emphasis on your ability to plan ahead, while the more frenetic modes depend more on quickly spotting your options and reacting fast. The modes with time limits are good for when you want to know you'll get a whole game in the time you have.
