During today’s WWDC keynote, Apple announced a new API Developer Kit for augmented reality apps. Dubbed ARKit, the API will allow developers to create augmented reality apps (and games!) with some pretty cool realistic built-in features...

It's once again that time of year for Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference, and this year there's one major change already: The event is not taking place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Nope, for 2017 Apple has taken their event even closer to their home in Cupertino and instead it will be held in the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. It's actually a homecoming of sorts as from 1988 until 2003 WWDC was held in that same convention center. I'm curious to see if there's more significance to this "homecoming" as to what Apple plans on announcing, or if it's simply makes logistical sense to have the event closer to their headquarters to make it easier for Apple engineers to be there. Aside from all that, though, it's pretty certain we'll get all the typical stuff like new iOS 11 details, possibly new macOS details, a rumored MacBook Pro refresh, and of course the biggest rumor of them all some form of Siri Speaker to compete with the Amazon Echoes and Google Homes of the world. ..
