Make no bones about it, SpellTower [$1.99] is an awesome game. Created by Zach Gage of Zach Gage fame, it's a word game that has you tracing out actual words from a jumble. In general, the bigger the word you can trace, the more points you'll get, but sometimes you'll come across letters with bonus modifiers that can jack up your score and delete lines from the jumble...

Temple Run [Free] is a really cool game. It's a behind-the-back endless runner that tasks you with, as an Indiana Jones-type named Guy Dangerous, fleeing from demonic monkeys across the ramparts of a temple. As you flee, you'll have to avoid obstacles with touch-based gestures. You'll slide under fire, jump across pits, and have to turn when your current path ends quite abruptly. It's a blast, and man, does it move...

Here's Some Upcoming Games That'll Support iPhone 5's Taller Screen

Over the coming weeks, you'll see a lot of "hey, this game has received iPhone 5 wide-screen support" posts. It's the nature of the beast, a byproduct of a yearly release cycle that developers need to keep up with as enthusiasts like us ditch their older, slower phones in favor of The Hot New Thing...

One of our app users' most anticipated games, an Unreal Engine 3-powered adventure game dubbed, simply, Lili [$2.99], is now out and available. High-profile games like this one usually see early international releases before they hit worldwide, but with the changes coming to the App Store and its support of the latest iPod touch and iPhone, it hit well and wisely before the usual Wednesday night / Thursday rush...

'Rayman Jungle Run' Review - A Run-Away Hit

Rayman Jungle Run [$2.99] is now my favorite iOS auto-runner. Granted, I wasn't the biggest fan of the genre, especially those with procedural, unending levels. Luckily, Rayman Jungle Run offers 40 distinct levels that require players to jump, hair-copter float, wall run, and punch or kick their way to the goal. ..

No word on price just yet, but it has been confirmed that the Unreal Engine 3-powered game will support the new screen sizes of the new iPhone and iPod Touch. ..

Apple Reveals iPhone 5 and New iPod touch

If you've been following the Apple rumor mill, you likely already know nearly everything that was revealed today during Apple's keynote. Oddly enough, all of the leaks were shockingly accurate with the rest easily filled in with some educated guesses. Regardless, it's now all official, and as of this Friday you'll be able to preorder your shiny new iPhone 5...

The iPhone 5 is taller, faster, and an actual real thing, Apple revealed this afternoon at its much-anticipated event. And to our delight, Fire Monkeys' Real Racing 3 shared some of the spotlight, giving people in the audience a practical glimpse at the power of the device's new A6 processor and the look of an app in wide-screen 16:9...

ThinkGeek and manufacturer ION's dreamy handheld controller add-on for iPhone and iPod Touch, the iCade Mobile, is now a thing you can buy on the Internet. It's $70, and it's still available despite appearing earlier this weekend. The final build looks identical to the one we saw at CES earlier this year -- it's still nice and glossy, supports eight buttons and a d-pad, and allows you to flip your device in its cradle if a game is only playable in portrait mode. ..

On April Fool's Day, Team Meat teased that its upcoming Super Meat Boy game for iPhone and iPad game will use new art, new sound, and new mechanics. In other words, it's not going to be a port of Super Meat Boy. Speaking with The Verge today, Team Meat revealed that it wants Meat Boy iOS to be twitch-based platformer like its big brother, but plans to tone down the memorization part of that original experience for the mobile crowd...

Surprise! Grand Theft Auto 3, which saw a release this December 14 at $4.99, is now just $2.99 in celebration of the holidays. If you were one of those day-one guys saying he'd wait until a price drop before taking the plunge... well, here you go...

Final Fantasy Tactics [$11.99] on iPhone and iPod Touch has inspired numerous, uh, passionate e-commentaries since its release earlier this year. One of the components we've seen the most bickering about has been addressed: Tactics' latest update zeroes in on the port's decidedly unspectacular visuals on retina devices and supports the screen...

Uppercut Games's ridiculously awesome cover-based shooter, Epoch [$2.99], is seeing its first price reduction since its November launch. For a limited time, you can grab it at $2.99 instead of its usual $5.99. I ran this deal past a few of our math wizards, and they're telling me this is 50 percent off the regular price, so that's cool...

One of our several iPad Game of the Year contenders, Anomaly Warzone Earth HD [$1.99], just got a great update and another price drop. The headlining addition in version 1.2 is iCloud support. Starting now, your save games are pushed to the cloud and can be retrieved on any device with the game and rocking iOS 5. 11 Bit has also continued on its incremental visual update spree, too. Multi-sample anti-aliasing, post-processing, and extra details on clouds and dirt have been added, as well as red outlines for enemy towers...

Microsoft, via Xbox Live evangelist Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, has just announced the immediate release of the company's first Xbox Live iOS app, My Xbox Live [Free]. It's a free app that basically acts as a mobile companion to some of the more important aspects of the service. You can read and send messages to anyone on your Friend's List, manage that list or invite new people onto it, edit your profile, gander at all of your hard-earned achievements, or even mess with your Avatar's apparel...
