The Elder Scrolls: Legends [Free] is ready to expand once again by returning to the mushroom-esque landscapes in Vvardenfell when Houses of Morrowind launches. This will be the biggest expansion content wise since Heroes of Skyrim. There will be 149 new cards that will be all too familiar to fans of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The expansion also brings various new abilities for each House. The abilities include Betray, Rally, Exalt, Plot, and more. This expansion arrives after Return to Clockwork City arrived a few months ago...

Originally dated on the beginning of the month, #WarGames [Free] from Sam Barlow (Her Story [$3.99]) is finally available on iOS. #WarGames is a reimagining of the classic 1980s movie of the same name (no hashtag in the 80s though). Kelly, played by Jess Nurse of Scandal and Grace and Frankie, is an ex military brat who wants to fix the world and can only imagine doing so through some hacking. She joins up with more international hackers to bring out world peace. Watch the announcement trailer for it below:..

Over the last few years, we saw some really nice games get discounts. At first it was just Darkest Dungeon [$4.99 (HD)] and The Witness [$9.99] being quite heavily discounted. Soon after, more games started popping up like Gorogoa [$4.99] that sees its first discount ever on iOS and the likes of Thumper [$4.99] and more. For a change, I don’t own everything that’s discounted in the list below and while this is no coincidence, as of this writing, there doesn’t seem to be a feature up on the App Store for this big title sale. ..

The Invite Event on iOS for ‘Fortnite Battle Royale’ Has Now Begun and You Can Sign up for It Here

Epic Games’ Invite Event for Fortnite Battle Royale on iOS has just begun. If you aren’t aware, Epic Games announced Fortnite Battle Royale for iOS and Android. Before you scoff at this, it isn’t a scaled down port or a mobile spin off game. This is the real deal and progression syncs between other platforms and mobile with players also being able to play against others on non mobile platforms. Initially, the iOS version will be available through an Invite Event and the Android version will follow in the months after. Unlike other battle royale games, Fortnite has base building and a big building component. I’m curious to see how that aspect works and controls on iOS. Watch the trailer for Fortnite Battle Royale below:..

Square Enix Is Bringing the Previously PS Vita Exclusive ‘SaGa Scarlet Grace’ to iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch This Year and an English Release Is Likely

Square Enix revealed SaGa Scarlet Grace for Nintendo Switch during the Nintendo Direct that just aired. The 2016 released PlayStation Vita title was apparently heading to the Switch but soon after the Direct, they confirmed that it is not just coming to Switch but to basically every platform including iOS and Android. SaGa Scarlet Grace is an interesting game in the long running SaGa franchise. It was also one of the last few PlayStation Vita only games from Square Enix. Romancing SaGa 2 [$17.99] was interesting with how it handled grinding which is something a lot of people including myself use to break RPGs. SaGa Scarlet Grace is the first original console game in the franchise since 2002 and it has been written by Akitoshi Kawazu. It features various improvements from previous SaGa games and lets you play as four different protagonists through separate stories. Watch the trailer for it below:..

I only recently played the first season of Batman - The Telltale Series [Free] on the Switch after dabbling into it on iOS a while back. I quite like it and it maybe my favourite thing from Telltale after The Wolf Among Us. Batman: The Enemy Within [Free] is quite nice like the first season with a lovely atmosphere and more. The Enemy Within will conclude on March 27th. This finale episode will launch on all platforms at the same time and you can expect two finales from it. It is good to see Telltale release the finale at the same time on all platforms unlike some of the previous episodes in some of their games...

Nintendo’s first big mobile game had a fantastic reveal when it was shown off at an Apple event and Tim Cook said Mario would be coming to the App Store. Since launch, Super Mario Run [Free] has seen a few discounts for the IAP and it has also seen quite a bit of post launch support with content. Super Mario Run wasn’t a mindblowing runner but it was quite a bit of fun initially. It also featured a single IAP to unlock the full game and anyone can try out a few levels for free. The content updates so far have included new buildings, new characters, levels, an in game music player and more...

It isn’t far fetched to consider Gameloft a very important part of mobile gaming in general. I bought a lot of their initial games when they had basically mobile games that were pretty darn heavily inspired by popular games on other platforms. The App Store has changed over the last few years and Gameloft has struggled to keep up with how things have become. Over the last few years, they’ve had cuts to various studios. After the sad situation at their NYC office, a report from has some more bad news for Gameloft with cuts at their studio in Madrid...

'Rome: Total War' for iPhone Is Now Launching in Summer and We Finally Get a First Look at the Progress of the Port

It is always great to see classic strategy games make their way to iPad. When Feral Interactive brought Rome: Total War [$9.99 (HD)] to iOS, many questioned how it would control and look. Those fears were mostly put to rest and we even saw the release of the expansion, Barbarian Invasion [$4.99 (HD)], as a standalone release. The iPad is a fantastic way to play Rome: Total War and I was quite showcked when it was announced for iPhone. A lot of PC games make their way just to iPad and not iPhone like FTL and Papers, Please due to the larger real estate available. Rome: Total War was scheduled to release on iPhone for $9.99 but it was delayed. We finally have a video showcasing how the port looks and how the interface is on the iPhone screen...

‘Shin Hayarigami’, the Horror Adventure Game That Was Only Released on Playstation Platforms in Japan Is Coming to Mobile in English on March 15th

Localizing visual novels and visual novel like adventure games is always a huge ask for localization studios because of the volume of text that needs to be translated and edited. It took too long for Steins;Gate to be released in English just on PC before it eventually made its way to PlayStation platforms in English and finally iOS. There are some situations where a visual novel gets released in Japan on a console and it only releases outside on PC platforms in English despite having mobile and console versions in Japan already. Today, i-PLAY announced not just a localization of Shin Hayarigami but one that is iOS and Android only for now. Shin Hayarigami is a Japanese horror adventure visual novel developed by NIS game that is one of the rare games in Japan to have a CERO Z (18+) rating for violence and horror. Watch the announcement trailer for the PlayStation version below:..

Playdigious and Shiro Games have just released Evoland 2 [$6.99] on the App Store. Evoland 2 on iOS is a universal game and it includes an Apple TV version. A little while ago, we were told that it would not be releasing on iOS for a few reasons and it is good to see how things have changed since then. I loved Evoland [$1.99] and I’m glad to be able to play the sequel on iOS. Evoland and Evoland 2 have seen success in general and hopefully things go well with the iOS port. Watch the trailer for the mobile version that is now available below:..

Snatcher Inspired Read Only Memories: Type M Releases on March 6th for iOS and Android, Pre-Order Available Now for Free

After announcing a port a while ago, MidBoss has finally put up Read Only Memories: Type M for pre-order on the App Store. This is a Snatcher inspired point and click (and even smell and taste) adventure that originally released on PC platforms a few years ago. It made the jump to PlayStation 4 in early 2017 before releasing on PlayStation Vita late last year. I’ve played it twice across PC and PlayStation 4 and love the aesthetic and music. This cyberpunk adventure features various aspects of augmentation, AI, and more. Watch the announcement trailer for the iOS and Android release below:..

HAL Laboratory’s previously Japan only game, Part Time UFO [$3.99] has finally released in more countries including the United States. If you aren’t familiar with HAL Laboratory, they work closely with Nintendo and have for decades bringing us franchises like Kirby, Earthbound/Mother, and more. Back in November last year, HAL Laboratory released Hataraku UFO which is the first game in their new smartphone development studio called HAL Egg. This game has you control a UFO with a retractable claw like the arcade machines except you do it to help people here. This involves things like moving cargo, stacking people, and more. The possibilities seem endless and I’m glad to see them branch out to more countries because this is exactly the kind of thing more people need to play. Here’s a gmaeplay video of it:..

'Evoland 2' Is Coming to Mobile After All, Releases February 28th for iOS

Playdigious and Shiro Games are bringing Evoland 2 to iOS and Apple TV after all. Little under two years ago, we were told the follow up to Evoland [$1.99] would not be making its way to iOS for a few reasons. We found it odd at the time and are glad to see the publisher and developer have both changed their mind here. Evoland 2 was built on the Haxe engine that the team found hard to work with for mobile. It also took a lot of effort to get the controls working well for touch screens. Watch the mobile announcement trailer below:..

'Sword Art Online: Integral Factor' Announced for Worldwide Release, Pre-Registrations Now Live

Bandai Namco Entertainment just announced that it is releasing yet another Sword Art Online mobile game. This one will be releasing worldwide on both the App Store and Google Play and is called Sword Art Online: Integral Factor. IT takes place in the year 2022 when Akihiko Kayaba has developed a full dive VRMMORPG titled Sword Art Online. Once logged into, you can’t log out until you complete the game and a game over means dying in the real world. You play as a former beta tester for the VRMMORPG who is trapped inside now. Watch the announcement trailer for it below:..

Pokémon GO [Free] is gearing up for the Lunar New Year. There will be a special Safari Zone Event in Taiwan later this month and it will be at the Chiayi Lantern Festival. The event will see Drantini, Mr Mime, Growlithe, and more appear alongside lanterns during the day. Once evening (5 PM) hits, Chinchou and Lanturn will start showing up. Outside the Safari Event Zone, there will be more Pokémon to find around the rest of Chiayi County. ..

Midjiwan’s The Battle of Polytopia [Free] has quite the cult following. It debuted on the App Store in early 2016 and has consistently received updates wit enhancements and new content. I only started playing it after a friend constantly spoke about how well it played which was surprising given the genre. The Battle of Polytopia is one of the most approachable turn based strategy games out there. It also looks excellent and controls brilliantly on touch. Midjiwan announced something everyone wanted earlier when an online multiplayer update with cross platform play was announced. ..

Today is a good day for Capcom news. After updating Ghost Trick for iOS 11 and iPhone X, Capcom has a big spring sale on for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise has been across multiple systems over the years. I got into the franchise on the 3DS but always wanted to play the older games as well. When Monster Hunter Freedom Unite [$14.99] released on iOS, it was a no brainer purchase. It is now down to just $3.99 from $14.99 on the App Store which is 74% off and the historic lowest price for this game. It is also a fully premium release with no hidden costs or in app purchases. Freedom Unite is actually an enhanced and expanded release to Monster Hunter Freedom 2 which was based on the second mainline Monster Hunter game that never released outside Japan. Watch the trailer for the iOS release below:..

Capcom’s Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective [Free] is still considered one of the better Nintendo DS games. It released pretty late in the life cycle of the console but had great reviews across the board. It even won some awards at the time. I was pretty glad to see it release on iOS a year later. The sad thing is, the game never got the sales it deserved. Ghost Trick on the App Store has had quite the rocky history with OS updates. As with many Japanese ports, iOS updates sometimes break things and in a lot of cases, games remain broken for too long. Last year saw a double whammy in updates with iOS 11 dropping support for 32-bit apps with the Appocalypse and the iPhone X releasing introducing another aspect ratio to design for.
