Square Enix Release a New Trailer for Free to Play 'Final Fantasy Agito'

Final Fantasy Agito, Square Enix’s latest iOS title just got a new trailer ahead of its Japanese release in May. Directed by Hajime Tabata, Agito is a 3D RPG featuring real-time combat and stunning CGI cinematics. Set in the same universe as Final Fantasy Type-0, Agito has a new storyline broken down in chapters that are played out in real time and that change based on the decisions you’ll make. At the end, a new “cycle” will begin and you’ll have more choices to select from. Thus, the game should always be evolving. It sounds insanely weird and we’ll have to wait and see how the free to play elements impact the gameplay. It should be noted that Agito doesn’t have a solid release date here in the west and we’re not even sure it’s going to be released elsewhere...

Mobage has been experimenting in shooters for quite a while now. It started with The Drowning [Free] where they tried to mix a brand new control scheme with bite-sized gameplay that was meant to encompass the casual nature of our devices. Then came Lawless [Free], a take on Time Crisis that was quite well done and fun. Their last attempt at defining mobile shooters is called Isolani [Free] and after a soft-launch in a few select countries it is now available worldwide for free. ..

'Machinarium' Creators Amanita Design Plan to Release 'Botanicula' on iPad This May

Amanita Design make some really awe inspiring games. The art they used in game like Samarost or Machinarium [$4.99] is so beautiful it's hard to not stop and admire each screen of both games. The last title they released was Botanicula a fantastic point and click game that followed some strange critters. The plot is quite simple: A giant spider is corrupting the world and it’s up to you to save the day. But of course, everything’s wonderfully weird in this world and you’ll have your mind filled with lots of beautiful scenery and mysterious creatures before your time with the game is over. It’s no secret that Nintendo's Animal Crossing has been highly successful in its handled form, and the 3DS version was even out of stock for quite some time in Japan. It's curious then that we haven't yet seen a game quite like that on iOS. Stolen Couch Games thought that was strange too and they decided to create their own take on it. Castaway Paradise is everything you’d expect from a game of that genre. It features houses you can customize, a village to rebuild and plenty of activities like fishing, farming and bug-hunting. It’s also running real-time which means that special events will happen on certain days or at night. Today, Stolen Couch Games has released a new trailer showcasing the customization aspect. It was back in the middle of 2013 that we first heard about Microsoft’s plan to bring the Age of Empires Franchise to iOS. Called Age of Empires: World Domination and developed by KLabs Games, it features known world leaders and historical characters. It’s unclear whether this is a true RTS or a Clash of Clans-like strategy game. Make up your own opinion with this trailer that showcases a few seconds of gameplay:..

Look out Hearthstone, it seems Notch is about to ruin your party. Today Mojang announced that Scrolls, their card battler, is coming to the iPad and other tablets. The port will be handled by Ludosity who made the excellent Card City Nights [$1.99]. 'Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft' for iPad Soft-Launches in New Zealand, Australia and Canada

You may want to kiss your social life goodbye as Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Blizzard’s highly successful trading card game, has been soft-launched for the iPad in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Based on Warcraft’s lore, it may look like a re-skin of Magic the Gathering but beneath the surface is a different beast. Sure you’ll open packs, assemble the best deck you can build and beat your opponents with it, but it does away with terrains. Thus, it’s a simpler and more approachable game that is also incredibly fun. Millions of players have already spent countless hours on the recently released desktop version, and the game’s look and feel is a natural fit for iOS. We loved the iPad version when we previewed it late last year. You’ll be able to play it for free and you’ll also have the option to connect to your account thus getting the cards and progression synchronized with the PC/Mac version...
