It seems like an eternity since SlotZ Racer initially debuted on the App Store. Back then, its attention to detail coupled with a (eventually added) vast track editor and multiple modes made it not only a great slot car title but also a fun racer. Fast-forward to today and SlotZ Racer 2 HD [$0.99] looks to bring back the enjoyment that its predecessor (now no longer on the App Store) once touted. While SlotZ Racer 2 is a bit disappointing as far as new things it brings to the series, the core gameplay returns untouched, bringing newcomers an enjoyable experience...

It's Wednesday again, and this seems to be a weird one. I'm not sure why there's… So few games? Last week we were saying how it's nice that iTunes seems to be thawing out nicely allowing for a free flow of game releases and then we have this. Well, whatever. There's some great games this week regardless of overall quantity. If everything goes as planned all of these should be available at 11:00 PM Eastern...

Four great games went on sale this week, each providing a pretty amazing value for their sale price of 99¢. If you don't own these games yet, there's no time better than the present to go looking for change in your couch cushions...

The iPhone and iPod touch platform has seen numerous racing games hit the App Store in recent months that showcase the devices ability to run graphics at high speed with decent frame rates to boot. ..

Slotz Racer, developed by UK-based Strange Flavour and published by Freeverse, has recently been submitted to the App Store for review and should be available for download soon.  In anticipation of its debut, Aaron Fothergill of Strange Flavour has released an in-depth tutorial on how to create your own slot-car track using the game's integrated track editor...

Upcoming 'SlotZ Racer' Brings Slot Car Racing to the iPhone

As a kid in the '70s/'80s I was innundated with TV ads for slot car racing sets during the Saturday morning cartoons as I sat on the floor eating my Cap'n Crunch cereal.  It was great!  These were complicated, plastic tracks with twists, turns, overpasses, and even jumps.  Tiny, high-speed, electric racing cars would ride a slot in the track to victory.  "Driving" consisted of judiciously giving your car juice by way of a wired handheld controller with a big analog trigger.  Go too slow and you'd lose the race.  Go too fast and your car would fly off the track at the next turn.  Or collide with another car at an intersection.  It was heaven, and--oh--that lovey, lovely smell of ozone...

Out Now: 'R-Type II', 'Super Obstacle Boy', 'Any Landing' and More

It's another Wednesday already, with another list of new iOS games releasing all across the globe. It's not exactly a massive list this week, but as always there's an interesting selection of stuff to choose from. Also, there's several titles that we know of that are waiting to launch until Friday, which is Valentine's Day, so expect another one of these release posts later in the week...

It's My Birthday and Games Are on Sale!

February 28th, 2012 11:25 AM EDT by Eli Hodapp in News, Sales

If you listen to The TouchArcade Show, you'll know that we often joke about just how silly the culture of price changes is on the App Store. Even the most obscure of holidays are fair game for entire-catalog 99¢ sales. Anyway, long story short amounts to me goofing around on Twitter mentioning how my birthday almost seems like a more relevant holiday for iOS sales than Presidents Day. I didn't really think anyone was going to do it, but it turns out there's a small number of developers observing my birth as reason to drop prices. So, if you've had your eyes on any of these games, I guess thank my parents...

I had planned on settling in tonight, sifting through the tons of emails we've received from developers who are planning to or have put their games on sale, and forming some kind of massive list... Only to discover that TouchArcade forum superstar and all around cool dude Djflippy had completely one-upped me, not only posting a thread with a remarkably comprehensive list, but also alphabetizing said list...

Aqua Moto Racing [App Store] is a Jet Ski racing game, which hit the App Store last month. As Resolution Interactive’s second title, Aqua Moto Racing has secured their reputation in my book as yet another developer to keep an eye out for when looking for great games. Featuring 18 tracks that take place in three different aquatic locations, Aqua Moto Racing provides a dynamite package of speed, great graphics, and the best controls of any iPhone racing game I’ve played. Add to that the $2.99 price tag and Aqua Moto Racing is a hard title to pass up...
