Beamdog’s ‘Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear’ is Finally Coming to Mobile on March 8th

Way back in July of 2015, developer Beamdog announced Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, a brand new entry/expansion in the decades old Baldur’s Gate series. Siege of Dragonspear is set directly after the original Baldur’s Gate and leads right into Baldur’s Gate II, bridging the two games with brand new story elements, new characters, and a new playable class. It’s even built in the Infinity Engine as the original two Baldur’s Gate games were, so this was truly an authentic retro revival. Just under a year following its announcement, Siege of Dragonspear launched on PC to generally favorable reviews, and we hoped at the time that a mobile version wouldn’t be too far behind as Beamdog’s Enhanced Edition versions of both Baldur’s Gate ($9.99) and Baldur’s Gate II ($9.99) were quite beloved on mobile. Well, it took a while but Siege of Dragonspear is finally heading to both iOS and Android, and it’s coming soon: Next Thursday, March 8th.

Unlike the desktop version of Siege of Dragonspear, the mobile version will be a completely standalone release and won’t require you to already own Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition. But let’s be real, anyone who is hyped to grab Siege of Dragonspear likely already owns the original Baldur’s Gate, right? Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear will be matching its mobile siblings price-wise and will set you back a cool $9.99. Not too bad for an experience that’s reported to include more than 30 hours worth of content. So if you’ve been waiting for the past couple of years for Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear on your mobile device, the wait is finally almost over so be sure to check it out next week on March 8th.
