We pushed off recording of last week's episode to today because we were working so late into the day to publish our top 100 games list. So, we got back after the holiday weekend to randomly discuss some of our favorites from the list. iOS game releases over the year are only getting better, and I feel like we say this every year, but it was super difficult to trim this down to only 100 games. Wilder yet, is the list is only games released this year, we could've easily thrown together another 100 of games that came out in the past and have been flawlessly maintained with updates since.

Don't forget to shoot us emails with any questions, feedback, or anything else relevant or irrelevant to podcast@toucharcade.com. We read 'em all, and love decoding messages written entirely in emoji. As always, you can listen to us with the links below... Best "just a few seconds" games in 2017 IMHO: Footy Golf and Pigeon Wings 🙂

In response to the opening discussion about best game cutoff dates. Personally, I think if a game releases within a set year from one date to the other, then it has every right to be a top 100 as something early in the year. It all depends on TA’s cutoff date. I wouldn’t mind getting these best-of articles a week or two into the new year. Keeping the holiday articles and the personal top tens even at the end of the year, then it would be exciting to finally get to the new year to see the list and find something I missed from the past year.

The problem is I think it’s super important to have our best games list up for Christmas as there’s people getting new devices looking for things to play on it. But for what it’s worth I always go all the way back to our previous best of list when putting a new one together for the current year so even games that release late December or whatever will still be considered.

Great compromise! That cutoff has to be hard for you guys. And yeah, the best 100 probably gets a few clicks I’d imagine!
