If you do your gaming on the Android side of the ocean and are looking for some good games to play, check out Google Play’s Best of 2017 awards for inspiration. The most popular new games of the year were Super Mario Run, Bubble Witch 3 Saga, Magic Tiles 3, CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars, and Ballz (which was also big on iOS). The Most Competitive list had some cool entries, including Clash Royale, Transformers: Forged to Fight (whose latest update adds Megatron to the fighting mix), Battle Bay, and Fire Emblem Heroes. Animal Crossing made the Most Social list along with Minecraft (which I don’t always think of as social but the Better Together update has definitely helped in that respect).
Miracle Merchant, Flipping Legend, and Cat Quest were among the Best Indie games, and Last Day on Earth: Survival made the Most Innovative list. And the best game of 2017? That honor went to CATS.
