Did you know that Square Enix has a mobile MOBA called Flame Vs Blaze, and it's actually supposed to be really good? Well, not many in the West did know that because Flame Vs Blaze has been a Japan exclusive, but it looks like the game is going to be coming our way in 2017. This 3v3 MOBA has quite the team behind it, including Producer Hironori Okayama (Kingdom Hearts Unchained x), Director Yuji Abe (Final Fantasy XIII series) and character designer Gen Kobayashi (The World Ends With You). Great team, isn't it?

The game is all about 10 minute battles and a crazy cast of characters, and I'm pretty sure the name of Square Enix will get the attention of many gamers. Whether they'll stick with the game remains to be seen. Expect the game to come to iOS and Android at some point this year.

Man, Square-Enix really does make something for everyone. Though this isn't for me, I hope the MOBA fans out there enjoy it.

Do you think they will charge for it

      • Booch138

Nah. They've been pretty aware of the freemium market, how it works, and how to make money from it. I doubt this will be a pay-to-win necessarily, but it'll definitely be a F2P model I'm certain.

I doubt it. If it's online, I bet it'll be F2P. I just hope they release Final Fantasy Dimensions II over here in America.

I gotta say though, I wasn't impressed with the trailer. Graphics felt like early PS2/late DS graphics and I couldn't tell what the hell was happening with all the "action" pop ups they showed. Is there multiple lanes? Is there a jungle?

That's prob the worst game trailer i've seen in a long time.

    • HelperMonkey

      It's definitely in color.
And has some kind of animation...
      Hmm...

  • mrbass

Not many knew. That threw me for a loop

  • Chaorro

Man, this will probably the first moba I'll have played since Fates Forever

  • Weisse

That trailer is too Japanese-esque, hyper visual popups showing very little of the actual game and overly acted voice overs. Let's hope the actual game is good though.

I played JP beta (FLAME X BLAZE) and it's definitely not P2W. It has IAP but just like most mobile games. You can progress without purchases. It is MOBA but not like others. You have a skill tree you work on battling other users that the skills stick with you permanently - not per battles (like regular MOBA games). It is also story-driven and has RPG elements. In battles, if you defeat the monsters, they assist you in the game.

There is also offline mode where instead of users, you can battle AI computers.
